You may not know his name, but you have probably heard his guitar. Billy Strange played on hit songs by Jan & Dean, Nancy Sinatra, Willie Nelson, The Everly Brothers, Wanda Jackson, Nat King Cole as well as numerous songs by The Beach Boys.
As an arranger, he worked with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Mel Tillis, Duane Eddy and Elvis Presley. His most famous work was the arrangement of “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’” by Nancy Sinatra.
As a songwriter, Strange teamed up with Mac Davis to write several hit songs for Elvis Presley including “A Little Less Conversation”, “The Theme from Charro!” and “Memories”
He was inducted into The Musicians Hall of Fame in 2007.
